this does work ok with drop in drop out open world missions but call of duty isnt a open world game like ghost recon wildlands or something like thatĪs for why split screen is going away (but should have a option to stay) split screen is going away simply based on graphics performance. My guess for online co-op going away is it would have to be split into individual smaller missions that would then only allow a friend to join if they are that far in the campaign them selfs.
I can understand why couch co-op & split screen is going away but not why online co-op is going away
TL DR: Is it due to lack of resources, time, money, or technically impossibilities that we can’t have a co-op campaign in any Call of Duties? Why can’t we have co-op campaigns? Is it just a technical impossibility as far as programming it? Is it money restraints? I don’t know much about game development so I am genuinely curious and if anyone can either take an educated guess or actually know I would appreciate it. And all I’m saying is that it would’ve been more fun with friends.īack to the question at hand. Wether it was the amazing Modern Warfare series back in 2007, or even Black ops 1. And for anyone that has played for that long, knows how amazing the stories have been. Now, that being said, I’ve been playing Call of duty since I was a teenager and it all started with COD 2 back in 2005 (yes I’m a bit old). Wether it’s because we can’t stop laughing with our friend or even having amazing cutscenes, playing co-op can make the campaign even more memorable. Co-op to me and many others is fun especially with your friends and it can make a campaign run 100% better in many ways. It didn’t really affect the story until halo 5 (but we don’t talk about that mess). If a 2008 Co-op campaign was possible then, why is it not possible now? Let’s take a look at Halo for a second, it has always had a Co-Op campaign available wether it was couch co-op or online and the first one came out in 2001.
